The Role
We have limited permanent full-time positions available in Castlemaine on both day and afternoon shifts. Both shifts include rostered days off, with afternoon shifts receiving additional penalty rates.
Rosters available:
- Day Shift: Approximately 5:00 am to 3:00 pm — Starting pay rate $24.58 per hour + RDO (subject to availability)
- Day Shift: Approximately 6:00 am to 3:00 pm — Starting pay rate $24.58 per hour + RDO
- Afternoon Shift: Approximately 3:00 pm to Midnight — Starting pay rate $24.58 per hour + 15% penalty + RDO
Your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Operate and maintain machinery and equipment used in meat processing, including tasks such as packing, slicing, lifting, pushing, pulling, holding, and carrying
- Handle both raw and cooked meat products
- Adhere to strict food safety and quality standards throughout the production process
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Collaborate with the production team and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow and achieve daily targets
- Rotate tasks to ensure variety in daily duties
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency
About You
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate the following abilities and personal attributes:
- A strong commitment to safe work practices at all times
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with other team members
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while completing repetitive tasks
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Comfortably lift weights of 15-20 kg frequently
- Able to work in chilled temperature rooms
- A hardworking attitude and the ability to communicate and interact with people at all levels
- Commitment to following established procedures and health and safety practices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A genuine commitment to full-time working hours
- Must pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
Please note that previous factory experience is not a requirement for these roles, all employment comes with paid on the job training
