Cyber Security Compliance Coordinator

About The Role
As the Cyber Security Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring our client's networks, information, and digital assets remain secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations. Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, you will collaborate with executives, elected representatives, and key stakeholders to identify risks, implement protective measures, and respond effectively to incidents.
You will also play a key role in embedding cyber security into all technology projects and organisational change initiatives, while helping build a culture of cyber awareness across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive Cyber Security Framework aligned with best practices and compliance requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate the deployment and monitoring of security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus).
- Assist with incident response activities, including investigations and reporting.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements such as ACSC Essential 8, Cyber Security NSW 'Mandatory 25', and PCI-DSS.
- Deliver security awareness and training programs to employees, contractors, and partners.
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide regular reports on compliance status, risks, and emerging threats.
About You
You are an organised and detail-oriented cyber security professional who combines technical expertise with strong communication and coordination skills. You can work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels and are committed to building a secure and compliant environment.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Solid understanding of cyber security principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting the development of cyber security strategies or programs.
- Familiarity with incident management and forensic investigation processes.
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
