The Opportunity

Due to company growth, we are seeking a suitably qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Picton. Applicants will need to be reliable, flexible, self-motivated, and prepared to work independently and as part of a small team.

You will be responsible for servicing and repairs on our fleet of waste management collection vehicles effectively, while maintaining to the NHVR standards.

Duties of the role
  • Conduct all facets of preventative maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles including brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics and fabrications
  • Installations and commissioning of mechanical/ hydraulic components and systems
  • Carry out non-routine repairs as necessary
  • Ensuring the fleet is maintained to, and in compliance with Fleet Management Standards, with an emphasis on safety
  • Supervise and give direction to Apprentices as required
  • Onsite checks and breakdowns
Essential Requirements
  • Certificate III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
  • Current NSW Trade Licence
  • Ability to diagnose and repair defects
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Minimum Class C Drivers Licence
  • Willing to obtain a HR Licence.
