Key responsibilities
Within the role you will be working with a team that is made up of supportive and collaborative professionals, that strive to achieve excellent results, take pride in their attention to detail and ensure that there is positive satisfaction from all internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of their high-quality designs.
As an Engineering Officer within the Substation Design Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of substation design. This includes civil, structural, and electrical design components. You will also be trained in the use of the Enterprise Asset Management System to create work orders, estimate projects, and add substation assets.
The role will be based from one of the existing substation design locations. Current locations include Orange, Wagga, Port Macquarie, Ballina, Albury, Leeton and Griffith.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience in a similar Substation Design engineering role in the Energy/Electrical sector and/or Asset Management roles.
- Knowledge and application of current design philosophies, procedures, statutory requirements including Safe Design.
Demonstrated experience to utilise analytical and technical knowledge to manage activities during planned and unplanned events providing appropriate solutions to technical/engineering issues in the Energy Network Technical environment.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver technical services in a professional and timely manner.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to produce quality work.
Strong time management skills with excellent planning and organisational skills, to be able to handle a varying complex workload.
Required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Diploma of Electrical Engineering or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
- Work Cover NSW Construction Induction Certificate
Current Driver's Licence
