Childcare Cleaner

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Childcare Cleaner to join our team at Maple Bear Norwest in Norwest, NSW 2153. This part-time role is crucial in maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for the children in our care.

What you'll be doing

• Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules and checklist
• Thoroughly clean and sanitise all childcare areas including classrooms, playrooms, bathrooms, outdoor areas and common areas (reception & staff room)
• Conduct after meal cleaning - wiping tables and sweeping/mopping floors
• Restock and replenish supplies such as paper towels, soap, and cleaning products
• Ensure all surfaces, floors, and equipment are free of dirt, dust, and grime
• Dispose of waste (including recycling and nappy disposal) and ensure proper waste management procedures are followed
• Support infection control and deep cleaning requirements when necessary (e.g. illness outbreaks)
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a high standard of cleanliness
• Collaborate with the childcare team to address any cleaning, packing away or maintenance needs

What we're looking for

• Current valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) is mandatory
• Available to work Monday - Fridays, 1pm - 5pm.
• Previous experience preferably in a childcare or educational setting
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness
• Reliable, punctual, and takes initiative
• Familiarity with safe and effective cleaning methods and the use of cleaning equipment and supplies
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently to complete tasks
• A passion for creating a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment for children
