Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Clayton, VIC

Shift: Morning shift - flexible start times available

Rate: $40 - $45 per hour + super (casual rate)

Terms: Casual ongoing - Temp to perm opportunities

About the Role:

Our client in Clayton is currently seeking an experienced Production Operator / Machine Setter to join their team. This is a hands-on role operating and setting a range of production machinery used in the manufacture of wire thread insert fastening systems.

You will report directly to the Production Supervisor and be part of a friendly, high-performing production team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and monitor manufacturing machinery in line with SOPs
  • Prepare tooling (mandrels, cutters) using hand tools and bench-top equipment
  • Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
  • Ensure all safety and quality standards are met
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to set machinery within tight tolerances
  • Basic computer skills and high attention to detail
  • Proactive, reliable, and punctual with solid work ethic
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certificate III in Process Manufacturing (highly desirable)
  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
