About Us

Hammond Migration is an immigration law practice based in Melbourne supporting companies and individuals with their visa and immigration needs across the entire Australian visa spectrum. We're pint-sized, and agile, and have a commitment to delivering high quality immigration services. We support work from home arrangements, but if you're in Melbourne, ask that you come to the office at least 1 day a week for a change of scenery.

The Job

We are on the lookout for an immigration lawyer, migration agent or case manager with at least 1 years' experience to join our practice. You will work closely with the principal lawyer to assist clients to navigate the visa landscape and achieve their migration goals. You will have the opportunity to work on all visa matters from Employer Sponsored, Labour Agreements, General Skilled Migration, National Innovation, Training, Family visas, ART and Court appeals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with client enquiries, collection of documents, drafting submissions, data checking, reviewing forms and applications

  • Prepare visa applications and appeals

  • Ensure files are up to date

  • Legal research

  • Liaise with clients over the phone, email and in-person, assist with their enquiries and provide updates on their applications

  • Attend client consultations

  • Write articles on latest migration law developments

  • Develop processes, systems and templates

  • Contribute to practice management and business development

About you

  • You have at least 1 years' experience undertaking the above tasks.

  • Ideally located in Melbourne, but Sydney can also work.

  • Excellent English language skills – written and spoken.

  • Japanese language skills desirable

  • You are passionate about helping people achieve their migration goals.

  • Experience using Migration Manager software is highly desirable.

  • Employer sponsored visa experience a must, and broad experience across all visa subclasses highly valued.

  • Sound knowledge of the legislation underpinning the Australian visa system.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight deadlines.

Salary

Salary will be commensurate with experience in the range specified
