MINING ENGINEER

Role:

We're looking for a proactive and motivated Mining Engineer to join our technically skilled and enthusiastic team. Based at our sub-level open stoping operation, you'll work alongside a passionate group of mining professionals in a safe, inclusive, and engaging work environment. Reporting to the Mine Planning Superintendent, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality mining engineering services that support both short-term execution and longer-term operational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Short and medium-term planning and scheduling

  • Development designs, including into new stoping areas

  • Prepare detailed stope notes

  • Drill and blast design

  • Ventilation engineering

  • Project and continuous improvement work

  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to mine design cadet

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mining Engineering

  • Minimum 2 years underground mining engineering experience

  • Demonstrated experience within the underground metalliferous mining industry, preferably at a stoping operation

  • Experience with Deswik

  • Current Australian manual driver's licence

  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Office365

  • Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements associated with underground mining

  • Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills

  • A collaborative mindset and a "can-do" attitude

An attractive salary package is on offer, including relocation assistance and subsidised housing for candidates who choose to live residentially in Broken Hill (the Company's preferred arrangement). FIFO options will also be considered from Adelaide, Dubbo, or Sydney.
