Join a high-profile Queensland Government department on a 6-month contract in the Brisbane CBD, working within a collaborative Cloud Operations & Cyber Security team. This role will see you provide day-to-day technical support across AWS, servers, networking, and Linux administration in a complex ICT environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid hands-on skills in cloud operations, system administration, and web hosting who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants exposure to large-scale government ICT projects.

What you'll be doing:

  • Administering and supporting AWS Cloud environments (servers, RDS, Route53, CloudFront, load balancers, target groups).
  • Providing Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS), patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Supporting and troubleshooting networking (TCP/IP), infrastructure, and web hosting services.
  • Managing webserver hosting environments including WordPress, NGINX, PHP, and MySQL.
  • Contributing to infrastructure automation and deployments using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, and VSC.
  • Working within a small team while also liaising with stakeholders across the department.

What you'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in AWS Cloud operations and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS) and server management.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and core networking concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly.
