The Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our bar and beverage service. This hands-on role requires excellent leadership, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage a small team while ensuring smooth and efficient bar operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Recruit, roster, train, and supervise bar staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure responsible service of alcohol (RSA) and compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, deliveries, and inventory management.
  • Maintain cleanliness, presentation, and safety standards of the bar area.
  • Work closely with the Club Committee and Function Coordinators to deliver successful events and functions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, and patrons.
  • Handle cash, EFTPOS, and reconciliations accurately.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the bar offering (drinks menu, promotions, and events).

Skills and Experience

  • Previous bar management or supervisory experience, ideally in a club, pub, or hospitality environment.
  • Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good organisational and time management abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of bar operations, stock control, and cash handling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work evenings and weekends.
