Nestled within the depths of Stories lies Fat Controller, our clandestine speakeasy. A nod to the neighbouring Perth central train station, this secret bar offers a unique cocktail range and word-of-mouth charm – adding an element of intrigue and sophistication to the Stories experience.

We are on the hunt for a Cocktail Bar Manager with a passion for theatrics and creativity to deliver exceptional service in this unique concept

As Bar Manager it will be up to you to drive our vision, provide and thrive as a smooth operator in a fun and lively environment. You will need the ability to build, lead and mentor your team of bartenders, orchestrate the service style, and make your mark on the hospitality landscape.

Along with Fat Controller, you'll be assisting with change for the cocktail menu's for other venues & restaurants within the precinct as required.

Key skill requirements...

  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • A deep understanding of craft cocktails and modern mixology
  • Service is at the heart of everything you do - ensuring all operations are in line for smooth service and a memorable guest experience
  • Must have a current WA RSA certificate, Approved Managers card,  Food Safety Certificate and full Australian working rights

  • Ability to monitor employees for professionalism and presentation with performance management and mentoring as required
  • A positive and respectful management style that will set the benchmark for a dynamic team
  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to train and nurture staff is critical, to ensure longevity
  • Attention to detail is also important, an almost obsession with all touchpoints of the visitor experience as it relates to the restaurant, with the pro-active nature required to make improvements as necessary.
  • Candidates must be available weekends & evenings as bulk of trade during this time
