Responsibilities
As the Software Developer, you will be part of a supportive and dynamic team, responsible for the development and maintenance of Hexagon's solutions to customers.

You will apply your skills in software development technologies to large scale project delivery and execution, working closely across a range of business stakeholders to meet business objectives.

You will be responsible and involved in all aspects of the software development process; analysis, design, coding, testing and release. Working with a diverse range of stakeholders towards achieving the business objectives will provide an opportunity for you to make an impact and to help Hexagon provide a better service to our customers.

This role requires the successful candidate to pass National Police Record checks.

  • Undertake design, development, integration, testing and support of Hexagon solutions
  • Assist in the design and development of high-quality solutions within an agile environment to meet project deliverables
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to plan and develop Hexagon solutions
  • Actively keep up to date with technology/industry trends in Software Development supported by Hexagon and customers
  • Participate in and contribute to design reviews, stakeholders' meetings and agile process meetings
  • Participate in Sales and Marketing support activities
  • Establish and foster relationships with peers across the region to leverage technical knowledge and solutions
  • Provide technical support and resolve problems for existing customers
  • Write documentation in accordance with Hexagon standards
  • Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to resolve technical issues
  • Develop technical and design documentation utilising version control
  • Provide technical support to business stakeholders
  • Assist with testing and deployment
  • Integrate automated tests into build and continuous delivery system to improve quality of output
  • Develop a broad and deep understanding of Hexagon products, services and markets
  • Work collaboratively to address problems/issues and integrating solutions to ensure business objectives are successfully achieved And other reasonable tasks as directed from time to time.

This role may involve domestic or international travel from time to time (less than 5%)

Education / Qualifications

  • Tertiary level qualifications in Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Certification in SQL Server, Oracle or similar databases will be highly regarded
  • Strong software development experience and knowledge that can be used in the development of desktop and/or web-based solutions
  • Technically capable in, but not limited to ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and C#.NET
  • Experience in Test Driven Development would be advantageous
  • Experience in one-or-more unit testing frameworks
  • Experience in SDLC, including configuration/release management, coding standards and documentation
  • Experience in Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in full-stack web development, with understanding of web technologies including protocols, infrastructure, security and associated technologies
  • Front-end: using ReactJS, Angular or a similar JavaScript technology
  • Back-end: using web service API's and back-end RDBMS Oracle or SQL Server (or comparable technologies will be advantageous)
  • Experience in mobile development using React Native
  • Proficiency in C++ would be advantageous
  • Previous experience in a traditional and hybrid project methodology environment
  • Agile (Continuous Delivery) experience with a passion for driving this culture within the team
  • Experience providing Level 3 support
  • Demonstrated knowledge on relational databases
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Public Safety industry will be beneficial
  • Experience working in an IT Vendor - Service Management environment

  • Ability to liaise with third party providers, consultants, US, European and Asia Pacific technical personnel
