The Company

Sunbird Home Care has been providing care in the Cairns region for over 3 years and has expanded into Mackay and Townsville in 2024.

We supply accredited team members to provide superior care in a participant home or residence. We are recognised as a passionate and skilled provider offering superior care determined by individual needs, by caring staff, showing dignity and respect to all. We provide our superior person-centred home care no matter where "home" is. From the family home to senior communities to rehabilitation facilities and beyond, we bring the superior care that loved ones need to wherever they call home.

The role

We're looking for support workers to support a male participant with mobility issues. Must have hoist experience and ability to transfer.

Job Requirements:

  • Independant contractors only (own abn etc)
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Disability Worker Screening Card (Yellow Card)
  • NDIS Worker Modules
  • Certificate 3 or 4 in Aged, Disability Care or Individual Support
  • A Current Australian Federal Police or Queensland National Police Check
  • A current and valid Australian drivers licence
  • A roadworthy and registered vehicle (KM's reimbursed)
  • Ability to work in Australia
  • Suitably qualified professionals with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships with clients and their families.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude, with the ability to adapt to the unique needs and preferences of each individual.
  • Experience in providing personal care and supporting daily living activities.

  • Rates: Support Workers - $43.50 per hour plus shift penalties
