About the Role
To support delivery of a major State Government project, Gemba is seeking a Power BI Developer to join our Melbourne office on a 1-month contract (3 days per week, September 2025).
This hands-on role will focus on designing and building dashboards, data models and reporting solutions that transform complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. You'll play a key part in enabling the project team to make data-led decisions, working closely with both internal teams and government stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to project requirements
Translate business requirements into effective data models and reporting solutions
Work with a variety of datasets, including finance, stadium operations and membership data
Ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability of reporting outputs
Collaborate with stakeholders to refine solutions to be client-ready
About You
Experience & Background
Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role
Track record of delivering reporting solutions in professional or government environments
Experience working to tight deadlines in project-based or contract roles
Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively within a small team
Skills & Tools
Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX and report design
Strong data visualisation and storytelling skills
Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities within a short timeframe
Highly Desirable
- Understanding of finance and accounting concepts including P&L, cashflow, forecasting and budgeting
Experience working with financial data and reporting
Success Looks Like
Deliver accurate, engaging dashboards that clearly communicate insights to stakeholders
Ensure reporting outputs are delivered on time and aligned with project objectives
Build strong, trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear communication and reliable delivery
Provide reporting solutions that directly support decision-making on this high-profile State Government project
