About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate National Wellbeing & Return to Work (RTW) Manager to lead Star Aviation's national workers' compensation, injury management, and wellbeing programs.
This newly created role will drive proactive injury prevention, claims management excellence, and safe, sustainable return-to-work outcomes across all our aviation cleaning and ground handling operations. You'll play a key part in shaping the wellbeing culture across our business—championing initiatives that support physical and psychological safety for our people.
Reporting to the Senior P&C Business Partner, this role is central to building a culture of care, accountability, and operational excellence.
What you'll be doing
Injury Management & Workers' Compensation

Implement best-practice injury management systems, policies and procedures.
Partner with insurers, brokers, rehabilitation providers and medical practitioners to support efficient and positive claim outcomes.
Analyse data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for prevention.
Maintain accurate reporting, documentation and regulatory submissions.
Lead regular claim review meetings to drive early intervention and improved RTW results.
Return to Work Leadership
Design, implement and evaluate effective RTW programs for safe and sustainable recovery.
Work closely with operational leaders to coordinate suitable duties and transition plans.
Coach regional and site leaders to lift capability and consistency.
Monitor performance through key RTW metrics, including duration, outcomes and cost management.
Wellbeing & Safety Integration
Lead wellbeing initiatives that support health, resilience and injury prevention.
Align injury management activity with broader Safety and People & Culture strategies.
Support mental health programs and early intervention initiatives.
Champion a culture of care, wellbeing and accountability across the organisation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
Provide strategic advice to executive leadership on claims trends, risks, and wellbeing performance.
Build strong partnerships with external providers and internal leaders.
Represent Star Aviation in audits, reviews and meetings with regulators or insurers.
Skills and Experiences:
What we're looking for
You'll thrive in this role if you are:
Experienced in national injury management and workers' compensation, ideally in a multi-site or operational environment.
Skilled in managing complex claims, return-to-work programs and insurer relationships.
Data-driven, with the ability to identify trends and provide strategic insights.
Resilient and proactive, always looking for ways to improve systems and outcomes.
A natural coach and communicator, able to influence leaders and elevate capability.
Passionate about wellbeing, creating programs that genuinely support people.
