Selection Criteria
  • This position is female identified on the basis of a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 31 of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience working in maternity, child and family health, womens health or other related discipline; Current unrestricted Drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
  • Demonstrated experience working with women, families and communities from migrant and refugee backgrounds and sound knowledge of health, social and settlement issues impacting migrant and refugee women and their families.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NSW Health System and knowledge of a wide range of networks and services available to assist individuals and families with health and social concerns within South East Sydney Local Health District.
  • Demonstrated experience of facilitating health education, health promotion, antenatal and parenting groups and activities.
  • Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written and computer literacy, this includes competency in English and other community language/s.
  • Demonstrated high level time management and organisational skills with an ability to effectively set priorities and show initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently as well as within a collaborative team environment, and with a wide range of service providers, key stakeholders and community organisations.
  • Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.
