About the role:
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our Lake Macquarie Community Mental Health team in Charlestown. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions for adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health needs. Your work will span a variety of settings including in-clinic appointments, home visits, and telehealth consultations.
You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers to provide holistic, recovery-oriented support to clients. Your responsibilities will also include facilitating group therapy sessions and developing individual treatment plans tailored to each person's unique needs. Additionally, you will contribute to service planning, participate in clinical supervision, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.

About you:
We're seeking a passionate and skilled Clinical Psychologist who thrives in a recovery-focused, holistic care environment. You'll bring strong clinical and time management skills, working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. You'll engage in weekly clinical reviews, case conferences, and daily team huddles that foster collaboration, peer support, and shared learning. Supported by the Senior Psychologist, Clinical Coordinator, and Psychology Head of Discipline, you'll have access to structured supervision and professional development. This role values flexibility in therapeutic approaches, innovation, and ongoing growth.
Requirements:
- Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the AHPRA website.
- Provisional Psychologists enrolled in an APAC-accredited Master of Clinical Psychology Course will be considered (Clinical Psychologists in Training). For Clinical Psychologists in Training, please note that you are required to nominate your placement coordinator as a referee.
