Contract Bookkeeper

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to reconcile our accounts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles.

Duties

• Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
• Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to suppliers.
• Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow effectively.
• Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary documentation for tax filings.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to data protection regulations.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is essential.
• Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero is required.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general bookkeeping principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are required.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
