Chatswood, Australia VERIDAPT Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year
About VERIDAPT

We design and deliver enterprise-grade IoT solutions that bridge the physical and digital worlds to give organisations around the world total visibility and control over their fuel, stockpiles, and emissions. Our rugged hardware and high-availability software are used in mining, rail, and energy sectors to monitor fuel consumption, prevent loss and theft, track renewable energy & emissions, and enable data-driven decision making.

With thousands of deployed devices around the globe tracking over 100+ Million Tonnes of carbon emissions and monitoring over 30+ Billion Litres of fuel . We are constantly innovating to deliver real value to customers – reducing costs, improving operational efficiency, and helping them meet ESG goals.

There has never been a better time to join the team Could you be the Systems Engineer we are looking for? We would love for you to be an escalation point for complex system problems, providing technical expertise and support across hardware and software.

The Role

Step into a hybrid engineering/support role at VERIDAPT where you'll support our product roadmap while acting as the subject-matter expert for system-level issues across hardware, firmware and cloud services. You'll work side-by-side with Product, Engineering, Delivery, Field Services and Customer Success to clear technical blockers, validate releases, and ensure smooth deployments at global sites.

This is a noncustomer-facing role. Work is escalated to you by internal teams (not by customers) when issues require deep system knowledge. As the internal escalation point, you will reproduce complex faults, drive root-cause analysis, coordinate fixes across teams, and harden the platform through regression testing, diagnostics, and knowledge capture, so future releases are more reliable and supportable.

What You'll Do
  • Enable roadmap delivery across the full product lifecycle: planning, build, test, release, ensuring outputs meet VERIDAPT's quality, commercial, and technical requirements.
  • Own test & validation (T&V) for hardware and software: design test plans, execute regression and integration tests, and document evidence of conformity for release readiness.
  • Act as the internal escalation point for complex system-level issues, reproduce faults, perform root-cause analysis, and drive cross-team fixes to unblock roadmap milestones.
  • Support third-party integrations from initiation to completion, ensuring technical alignment and smooth delivery.
  • Create and maintain documentation, such as: verification and validation reports, manufacturing and testing procedures, user guides and how to procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Field Services) by triaging escalations, diagnosing issues, and recommending preventive actions.
  • Deliver training sessions for internal teams and partners on new products, features, diagnostics, and best-practice procedures.
  • Be flexible in your work mix: the ratio of time spent across T&V, internal escalations, integrations, and documentation will vary month-to-month depending on roadmap phase.
  • Availability & mobility: occasional out-of-hours support may be required for critical events or releases, and occasional travel (domestic or international) may be needed for vendor lab testing, factory acceptance activities, or key deployments.
About You
  • Degree in Electronics, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 0–2 years' experience in a relevant role – motivated graduates with a passion for technology are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Practical experience in integrating and verifying hardware/software components within software-based systems (university project experience will also be considered).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide effective technical support for complex issues.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as a self-starter.

Desirable:

  • Certification in software release testing.
  • Exposure to or understanding of PCB design and manufacturing.
  • Experience with firmware design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Knowledge of the mining and rail industries.
