The job
The Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions to support the organization's applications and services. Working closely with application developers, SRE teams, and cloud architects, the DevOps Engineer builds and optimizes cloud environments, ensures efficient deployment pipelines, and automates infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The role focuses on reliability, scalability, and security while enabling continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on Azure.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and integration.
Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Bicep or Bash templates.
Collaborate with development, SRE, and cloud operations teams to ensure efficient deployment and monitoring of services.
Automate routine tasks like infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and system configuration.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
Optimise cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
Implement security best practices across the cloud infrastructure.
Assist with incident management, disaster recovery, and service monitoring.
Stay updated on new technologies and cloud services to recommend improvements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, preferably on Azure.
Proficiency in DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor.
Familiarity with cloud security best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or DevOps Engineer Associate.
