APG are currently seeking a Welder/Fitter for 5-month contract for a local Government Sector based in Sydney CBD.

The Role:

Location:  Sydney Harbour Bridge 

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 5 Months 

Pay Rate: $47.20 per hour + Super + Allowances 

Hours of work: 38 hours per week

Job Details:

will be required to safely install, maintain, repair, commission and

modify complex machinery which uses hydraulic/pneumatic principles and will carry out minor repairs and minor servicing on vehicles.

Key accountabilities

  • Safely carry out all aspects of Fitter works in accordance with their Trade Qualifications, industry

    specifications and Transport for NSW quality standards.
  • Perform a wide range of routine and complex labouring/manual tasks, including the use of a variety of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools to assist with the completion of work activities.
  • Work is completed under limited supervision and may be done in a team environment or independently.
  • Perform a wide range of advanced non-trades functions which have been acquired through experience or formal training to specified standards and tolerances.
  • Conduct safety checks on all plant used, complete basic maintenance such as refueling and checking fluid and maintain records and reports to ensure the safe use of plant items
  • Solve routine problems that arise, referring to standard guidelines and manuals and collaborate with supervisors and managers to resolve complex problems to ensure risks are minimised and work goals

Required:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
  • Current Construction Industry White Card
  • Current Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
  • Current unrestricted NSW motor vehicle driver's license
  • Willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed
