Due to continued growth and we are looking for a Project Engineer with a minimum 5 years' experience in the water industry.

Where does this role fit in?

This position focuses on providing front end support to a multitude of concurrent projects within the water sector. This role involves the preparation of job packs, understanding of construction drawings and associated procurement and the ability to report between the field teams and management.

You will be expected to have a high level of water industry and construction knowledge, combined with the ability to liaise between internal departments, suppliers, contractors, Senior Management and client representatives. This role reports to the Project Manager.

From time to time, work may be away from home on a FIFO / DIDO arrangement, with your salary and relevant perks adjusted accordingly.

What you can expect as our next Project Engineer:

  • Assist Project teams with the execution of projects and quality assurance.
  • Assist Project teams in developing work packages and scopes of work for execution.
  • Preparation of detailed methodologies and programs of work.
  • Create job cards to ensure quality standards, compliance with building and HSEQ regulations, and proper construction techniques.
  • Managing the preparation of detailed and accurate quantity take-offs, as well as estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontracts, construction, and facilities.
  • Maximise procurement opportunities for all plant, equipment and materials specific to projects.
  • Procure and manage project supplies within budget, and arrange external fabrication, subcontractors, and in-house purchases per procedures.
  • Reviewing and understanding implications of Design & Construction documentation, engineering drawings and plans.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure project monitoring and requirements are met within required timeframes.
  • Ensure completion of project documentation in accordance with client contracts.
  • Conducting site visits as required for quality assurance checks.
  • Provide assistance with progress claims.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in engineering (structural engineering preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated experience within the water industry (preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, to plan effectively and prioritise work commitments.
  • Great communicator.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Extremely proficient in the Microsoft suite
  • Good team member.
  • Strong personal drive and initiative.
  • Take ownership/responsibility of your tasks.

Desired competencies

  • Working at Heights and Confined Space Trained.
