About the opportunity

At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Chef/Cook, you'll create cherished moments each day.

• No shifts commence before 9:00am or finish after 5:30pm, shift of 8hrs
• This role will not be rostered for split shifts
• A set roster, so you will know 8 weeks in advance your shifts
• An opportunity to work full-time covering leave requests

What you'll bring

You're reliable, resilient and have a whole lot of heart. Most importantly, you are genuinely interested in supporting others and making a difference in your community.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen
• Food handler's certificate or equivalent, or willingness to complete before commencement
• Available to work full shift from 9:00am to 5:30pm
• Being responsible for supervising the daily operations of the kitchen
• Motivated person who is able to work unsupervised
• Passionate about food presentation
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to provide vaccination evidence as per PD2022_030 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or 3 years of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or willing to obtain one.
• Current vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
