Metro Steel Fabrication WA is a leader within the Commercial & Mining Steel Manufacturing industry with a strong pipeline of work well into 2026.

An opportunity has become available for a Junior Project Assistant in our Construction division.

You will be responsible for assisting the projects team planning, scheduling and managing of Multi-disciplinary fabrication packages. As this role is a dynamic / fast paced position you will be required to compile, plan, and assist project team to undertake designated activities with minimal supervision to achieve customer expectations, deadlines and Budgets.

The Role;

  • Addressing all customer relations including enquires and collaborating of projects to ensure outstanding quality of service.
  • Develop and Issue Fabrication work packs.
  • Contract handovers and review.
  • Managing project cost against budget of all resources associated with purchasing and quality documentation.
  • Expedite and Coordinate with workshop personnel, logistics team, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Working within a team to complete projects from award to delivery.

To be considered the following candidate must possess

  • The ability to work to deadlines.
  • Some knowledge of cad and technical drawings.
  • Understanding of commercial projects would be of a plus.
  • Proven ability to prioritise and to work under pressure to ensure that internal services are efficient to operations.
  • Excellent relationship building, problem solving, negotiation, communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge.
