Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia Orchard Talent Group Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) is entering an exciting new phase of leadership following the appointment of Jill Wong as Chief Executive. The District is undertaking an executive redesign shaped by the direction, vision and values of NSW Health, creating contemporary and agile leadership that is fit for the future. This is an opportunity to be part of a progressive Executive Leadership Team that is collaborative, innovative and aligned with the Future Health agenda.

The Opportunity
The District Director, Clinical Service Delivery is an exceptional senior executive opportunity, reporting directly to the Chief Executive and carrying responsibility for a diverse portfolio that includes Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Allied Health, a wide range of Community Services, Virtual Care, Specialist Palliative Care, Oral Health, Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN), Womens Health, and Aged Care and Disability Services.

This is a NSW Health first, with MNCLHD introducing a leadership structure that elevates non-acute services within the executive level. It is a chance to lead the way in strengthening prevention, early intervention and avoidance strategies, shifting the system from hospital-centric care to models that support people to be well in homes and their communities.

You will establish and embed metrics that demonstrate the value and impact of out of hospital care delivery, ensuring services are equitable, accessible, accountable, sustainable and person-centred. By driving integration, fostering innovation and building capability across diverse programs, you will help define how regional health services can lead the next phase of transformation in NSW.

As a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive and member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will play a central role in district-wide strategy, developing high-performing teams and leading reform that leaves a lasting impact on clinical and community services, workforce capability and innovation.

The Organisation
MNCLHD delivers hospital, community and preventative health services across a diverse region from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour. With a $949 million budget, a growing population of over 230,000 and significant Aboriginal and culturally diverse communities, the District plays a central role in ensuring equity and improving health outcomes for rural and regional populations.

The District has a strong reputation for innovation, with a track record of introducing new models of care and embracing progressive approaches to service delivery. With a collaborative new leadership team and a commitment to the NSW Health values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, MNCLHD is well-placed to continue its journey of transformation and deliver on its vision of a healthy, well and thriving Mid North Coast.

About You
You are an agile and contemporary leader who brings kindness, empathy and inclusiveness to your leadership style. You listen actively, show gratitude, and foster a culture where people feel recognised and empowered. You are committed to building trust – with staff, communities and partners – through engagement, accessibility and authenticity. As a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive, you will work as part of a progressive, co-leadership Executive Team that values collaboration and respect.

You combine deep expertise in clinical and community service delivery with the resilience, vision and integrity to lead transformation at scale. You are motivated by the opportunity to support and develop the District's workforce, translate system priorities into local outcomes, and make a real difference to patients and communities.

You will bring:

  • Significant executive experience in community and/or clinical service leadership across complex health systems
  • A strong record of reform, innovation and cultural transformation in service delivery
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale change with integrity and accountability
  • Deep understanding of fiscal and industrial settings, with the ability to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in service deployment
  • High-level communication and engagement skills, with the ability to foster collaboration, build trust and influence across diverse stakeholders
