The OpportunityThis is a newly created, high-impact opportunity for a commercially astute Commercial Business Partner to drive significant value across the organisation. This is not a finance and reporting role, it is a chance to take ownership of cost and investment programs that are critical to funding the company's growth. You will be a key player in shaping commercial outcomes and instilling a culture of financial discipline and return on investment.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, your mission is to provide the financial horsepower behind various strategic business programs including a stream driven cost transformation program and a rapidly expanding CAPEX portfolio. You will be hands-on, diving deep into operational costs and capital projects, developing business cases, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver tangible savings and ensure strategic investments are successful.
What You'll DoAs a pivotal member of the commercial finance team, your remit is broad, analytical, and integral to the company's financial performance. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Lead financial advice on group-wide cost optimisation and value creation program, developing end-to-end business cases and driving initiatives to deliver multi-million dollar savings across the organisation.
- Partner with business leaders to identify and execute major cost improvement projects, including supplier negotiations, optimising standard fee contracts and arrangements, leveraging technology in shared services, and leading RFP processes.
- Provide dedicated commercial and financial partnership for the Group's significant CAPEX program, with a focus on fit-outs and major IT projects to ensure strategic alignment and return on investment.
- Act as the primary finance business partner for corporate functions including IT, Finance, HR, and Marketing, managing the forecasting, budgeting, and monthly analysis for an Opex budget.
- Develop robust financial analysis to provide critical insights and decision support for a range of strategic and operational initiatives.
- Drive a culture of accountability and commercial rigour by tracking and reporting on the realised savings and benefits from key projects.
We are looking for a proactive and commercially curious finance professional who is driven by tangible outcomes. You are an analytical thinker who can move seamlessly between high-level strategy and detailed, hands-on analysis. You possess the confidence to challenge the status quo and the stakeholder management skills to influence decisions and drive change in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this role, you will likely have:
- A CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in a highly commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering role, ideally gained within a fast-paced consumer goods, retail, or multi-site business.
- Demonstrable experience in cost optimisation, business case development, and project-based financial analysis.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to partner with and influence non-finance stakeholders.
- A self-starter mentality with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
