Our Client:

A well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy with decades of experience delivering surveying, planning, and engineering services across NSW is seeking a skilled Utility Locator to join their growing team. With a strong presence in the Newcastle and Hunter regions, this organisation prides itself on innovation, safety, and excellence across all projects.

The Role

As a Utility Locator, you'll play a vital role in identifying and mapping underground utilities to support a variety of infrastructure and construction projects. Using state-of-the-art technology, you'll provide accurate and reliable data that ensures project efficiency and safety.

This is a permanent and full-time position, working both in the field with a fully maintained and equipped company vehicle and in the office in between jobs. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct utility locating using GPR, EMI, and other detection tools.
  • Interpret and analyse utility plans, survey data, and DBYD information.
  • Prepare accurate field sketches, reports, and digital records.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to support project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

About You

  • Proven experience in utility locating (minimum 1–2 years preferred).
  • CertLoc (Before You Dig) certification or willingness to obtain will be required.
  • Understanding of AS5488 standards and underground asset management is advantegous.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Current driver's licence and White Card (Construction Induction) required
