City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and is a committed Child Safe organisation.About The RoleThe City of Port Phillip is seeking a reliable individual to act as a School Crossing Supervisors. This position carries the responsibility of ensuring the safety of pedestrians and children on their way to and from school as well as teaching the importance of road safety. The role requires availability Monday to Friday on school days, 8am – 9am and 3pm – 4.00pm.We currently have two permanent part time positions available.Skills And ExperienceThe ability to learn and understand the Vic Roads guidelines relating to school crossing operations.Experience and a desire to work with children and/or the public.Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and their carers.Ability to exercise personal judgement within agreed standards to respond to a customer's request on the same day it is receivedAbility to meet physical requirements of the role during all weather conditions.Reliability to commence work by the start time, and availability for the required hours morning and afternoon.Own transport is desirableCulturePeople enjoy working at the City of Port Phillip because we are a welcoming, healthy and inclusive workplace.
