About Canaan Lawyers

We are a boutique law firm on Collins Street, focusing on litigation (civil, family, and criminal law) as well as commercial law. Established in 2006, we have built a reputation for providing fixed-cost services, excelling in all types of litigation, delivering outstanding customer service, and handling complex commercial deals. Are you a student or recent graduate eager to gain hands-on legal experience? Our Leaders of Tomorrow Internship Program offers a gateway to explore the world of law while making a tangible difference. You will work alongside experienced professionals, apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges, and develop skills that will set you up for future success.

As an intern, you will apply what you have learned in school and through personal experience to real-life challenges. Most importantly, you will contribute to enhancing legal knowledge within the Chinese-Australian community. We take pride in supporting this community and aim to be a leading legal educator in Australia. Exceptional interns may also be considered for part-time employment.

Program Details:

  • Open to students of all academic levels, including first-year undergraduates.
  • Duration is 30 days, to be completed within a maximum of 12 weeks.
  • Work on specific components of projects, receive mentorship, and apply your knowledge to real-world challenges.
  • This is a voluntary, unpaid program. At the end of the internship, you will receive a written reference letter, a performance evaluation, and personalized feedback.

  • You are available to work from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, for at least 3 days a week.
