CORE REQUIREMENTS


• Be supportive of the Catholic and Norbertine ethos of the College.


• Be willing to contribute and participate in Co-Curricular activities.


• Ability to teach Religious Education an advantage.


• Hold a current TRBWA registration and Working with Children Clearance.


• Undertake Mandatory Reporting training (CPPMR) and maintain annually.


• Abide by guidelines contained in the St Norbert College Code of Conduct.


• Professional standard of dress and personal presentation.

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES


• Knowledge of proven pedagogies that progress students in need of intervention.


• Possess a wide knowledge of strategies for teaching students with additional needs.


• Present pedagogical proficiency and motivational classroom practices.


• Demonstrate a wide instructional range and differentiation strategies.


• Use data to target instruction that best meets the student's strengths, interests and learning needs.


• Exhibit an enjoyment from building relationships with adolescents.


• Display a proven record of progressing students with effective literacy and numeracy strategies.


• Design and deliver small group and individual evidence-based intervention programs to cater for students with diverse learning needs.


• The ability to deliver ASDAN units for students with additional learning needs or be willing to complete the training to do so.PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES


• Work as part of the Learning Diversity Team and other Learning Areas in programming, assessing and reporting.


• Write Documented Plans (including IEPs) for students as directed by the Head of Learning Diversity.


• Case manages students with additional learning needs and supports them in their individual pathway.


• Attend student reviews and parent/student/teacher nights.


• Provide appropriate learning tasks, correction, assessment and reporting.


• Provide frequent data on the progression of students on an intervention or IEP pathway.


• Ensure school rules and policies are adhered to by students.


• Delivery of OLNA intervention strategies to small groups.


• Assist students who need support to complete assessments, including the targeted teaching of literacy across

the curriculum.


• The delivery and assessment of IEP programs to small groups of students.


• Carry out teaching duties as negotiated with College Leadership.


• Act in an ethical and professional manner at all times.


• Establish inclusive, supportive learning environments.
