About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Chef/Cook to join our team. A permanent full time (76 hours per fortnight) and some casual positions are available.

You'll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals tailored to our residents' dietary needs, including those with specific health and texture-modified diets. Working closely with the care and kitchen teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring our residents enjoy safe, nutritious meals in a clean and compliant environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.
  • Ensure compliance with IDDSI guidelines and residents' care plans.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care team.
  • Manage food inventory and minimize waste.

What We're Looking For:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • Must hold a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in aged care industry or in a comparable industry such as healthcare facilities, retirement villages, or hospitals
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP
  • Demonstrate knowledge of IDDSI standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
