Your Role

Join MDAS in this pivotal leadership role where you will drive HR excellence and build people management capability across the organisation..

Mallee District Aboriginal Services is one of Victoria's largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and we now seek an experienced Manager Human Resources (MHR) to lead our Human Resources team. In this position you will

  • Lead and inspire a dynamic HR team to deliver timely advice, support and recruitment services.
  • Partner with the General Manager People, Culture and Inclusion to develop a workforce management plan, forecasting staffing needs and organisational trends.
  • Provide practical and strategic HR advice to managers, ensuring consistent operational, administrative and transactional support.
  • Promote a safe, productive and empowering workplace through effective coaching, risk management, and continuous improvement in HR service delivery.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of HR at MDAS, minimising risk while supporting managers to strengthen their people leadership skills.

This is a permanent, full time position based at our Mildura office location.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated high level leadership, management and change management skills.
  • Experience with payroll and HR policies, practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to communicate, consult, liaise, and negotiate with a broad range of people both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal, at all levels to achieve program objectives and goals.
  • Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve service with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline and/or extensive relevant experience.

Other Screening Requirements:

  • Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
  • Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
  • National Police Check.
