Key to their success is their client's ability to consult directly with technical leaders, with a focus on strengthening relationships and delivering smart engineering solutions.
Due to sustained business growth and recent project wins, an opportunity exists to further expand the company's capacity through the recruitment of a Technical Director of Bridges.
The Role:
As the Technical Director, you will see projects delivered from concept through to completion and use your outstanding technical experience to develop and deliver intelligent engineering solutions while mitigating any project risks.
In line with the industry paradigm shift towards technology-led solutions, you will have an interest in transposing your knowledge and experience across the new data driven engineering landscape.
You will lead the technical analysis of existing bridges and related structures, load ratings and rehabilitation scopes, including strengthening and replacement works. Working closely with both the engineering and construction divisions, you will:
- Assume responsibility for the technical leadership of structural engineering outcomes for the business
- Strengthen relationships with key clients through collective problem solving and innovation
- Plan and modify standards/processes for the remediation of complex bridge structures within the client environment
- Provide technical management and mentoring of junior staff members
- Provide technical consultation into the construction team for full bridge and superstructure renewals
- Lead the development of a fully integrated design and construct offering for the market
- Participate in and deliver of papers and research at conferences in conjunction with clients on management of structures across Australia
The Role Requirements:
As the Ideal Candidate you will have:
- Circa 15+ years of experience as a Bridge Engineer
- Chartered Engineer Status (CPEng or equivalent)
- Proven experience working with transport infrastructure operators
- Strong and extensive technical design and analysis experience on a broad range of bridges
- Demonstrated expertise in deteriorated structures within the infrastructure market
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- VicRoads Accredited Proof Engineer (Desirable)

The Benefits:
A salary range of between $250,000 and $280,000 is suggested for this role, though the salary offered will be commensurate with your experience. In addition to your base salary, you will be offered performance-based incentives as well as financial and leave support so that you can continue your studies.
