4-month Theatre Technician Training Program
designed for individuals with a strong work ethic, a caring nature and the motivation to learn.
No prior experience required, just a positive attitude and commitment to make a difference in patients lives every day.
About The Program
This hands-on training program offers a comprehensive introduction to the role of a Theatre Technician, working alongside experience professional in a real hospital environment.
Over four months, you'll learn how to-
- Set-up, clean, and maintain operating theatre equipment
- Safely assist with patient handling and transport
- Support clinicians and nursing staff in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Understand operating theatre protocols and medical terminology
- Understand and apply infection control, WH&S and patient safety standards
- Work in a team and communicate in a clinical setting
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be considered for
ongoing employment
as a theatre technician within our operating Suite

- Able to manage physical tasks, such as equipment handling and patient movement
- Eager to start a career in healthcare
- Flexible with availability, committed to rotating rosters including AM, PM, Twilights and Saturday shifts.
- Quick to learn and thrive in a team environment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic hospital setting

About Epworth Eastern
Position Description Inherent Requirements
Located in Box Hill, Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility with 14 theatres and expansion of ICU to 12 beds. Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic and general surgery to oncology, urology and endoscopy services. Our redeveloped site delivers positive, meaningful, and sustainable impact on the health and well being of our community, delivering much needed health care services and facilities in Melbourne's east.
Qualifications
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Specialising in Operating Theatre Technician) or enrolled in a Certificate III course.

The annual salary range for Theatre Technicians – AUD $59,718 - $73,037 + super + entitlements dependent on year level (prorated for part-time).
