As the Principal Coordinator you will:

  • Support the Director-General and Executive Director, ODG through the provision of strategic policy advice, analysis and support on complex policy and operational issues as well as complex, sensitive and confidential submissions and reports.
  • Assist in leading the development of a departmental position on whole-of-agency and whole-of-government issues.
  • Monitor and provide advice on a diverse range of issues across the agency, to identify and deliver appropriate analysis and advice to support the government's science, conservation and environmental agenda.
  • Liaise and negotiate across divisions on a range of issues to ensure whole-ofdepartment outcomes are achieved.
  • Develop positive, effective working relationships with staff and senior officers across the department to build the collective capability of the department, drive cultural change and foster innovation.
  • Write and edit correspondence, and prepare products including briefing notes, submissions, reports, correspondence and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.

For this role, you'll need:
