Peace Lutheran College (Peace) is a co-educational Kindergarten to Year 12 day and boarding school located in beautiful Cairns in tropical North Queensland. About the Role

The College is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Industrial Technology & Design Teacher to join the secondary school teaching team. Experience or education in Manual Arts including Woodwork, Metalwork, and/or Furnishing Skills is required. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for both experienced educators and enthusiastic new graduates to make a positive impact on students' lives.

The successful applicant will be passionate about delivering a quality and engaging hands-on learning experience to our Secondary School students and be able to demonstrate their capacity and willingness to engage with the Christian ethos of our College.

Criteria:

  • Experience teaching Industrial Technology and Design specialising in Woodwork to secondary students
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification and current teaching registration
  • Experience in the provision of quality relevant curriculum programs
  • Highly developed classroom teaching skills
  • Commitment to upholding Christian values and ethos
  • Ability to work in a team to achieve identified outcomes and sustained performance
  • Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication
