About the role

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Sales Engineer to join our Queensland team.

In this role, you will combine engineering expertise with a strong commercial mindset to promote OMRON’s automation and robotics solutions. You will identify customer needs, develop new business design and present tailored solutions, and drive business growth by achieving sales and profit targets while building long-term client partnerships. Report to the Senior State Manager.

Your responsibilities will include

- Build, maintain, and grow relationships with customers, including End Users, Consultants, System Integrators, Switchboard Builders, and OEMs.

- Identify and develop new business opportunities, providing tailored commercial and technical solutions.

- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing, including proposals and negotiations.

- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare accurate quotations and solution recommendations.

- Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies to drive growth.

- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, activities, and customer interactions in the CRM system.

- Achieve sales targets, KPIs, and ensure successful outcomes with key stakeholders.

- Any other tasks assigned by direct manager.

Whom we’re looking for

This role is ideal for a motivated and customer-focused professional who combines engineering expertise with a proactive sales mindset:

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.

- At least 3 years’ experience in sales or engineering within the automation or industrial solutions sector.

- Strong commercial drive, with a proven ability to identify opportunities, win new business, and achieve sales and profit targets.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to engage customers from the shop floor to the C-suite.

- A collaborative team player who thrives on building long-term customer relationships while delivering tailored technical solutions.
