Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As an Agribusiness Manager, you'll provide excellent service to our Agribusiness clients via phone-based management. You'll manage and grow a portfolio of clients, being their dedicated point of contact, and enhancing partnerships with those clients and prospects.

What are the key day to day tasks for this role?

  • Manage a portfolio of Agribusiness clients, with the aim of growing business with both existing and new clients.

  • Developing ongoing relationships with Field Partners and specialists to ensure seamless BNZ Partners experience for our clients.

  • Promoting and selling a range of customized solutions incorporating Bank products and services to meet customer needs.

  • Manage and facilitate business submissions that meet customer needs effectively and efficiently, and demonstrate prudent risk management.

  • Maintain a strong awareness of industry trends and competitor strategies, and how ensure portfolio retention.

  • Develop, coach and mentor Senior Associates and Associates to assist them to deal competently with clients.

What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?

The market is competitive and commercially orientated, and consequently the role requires the Agribusiness Manager to have an understanding of industry trends, understand the value of networking and connecting people and what is means to create success both for the business and the client. We are looking for:

  • Someone from a rural background and have a genuine affinity to rural New Zealand.

  • Can demonstrate their previous success in a relationship management positions, and where they have grown.

  • Ideally banking experience, otherwise a strong understanding of lending principles, financial statements and risk management.

  • Agribusiness Degree preferred, however Business degree considered if you have a rural background.

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?

Success is simply finding a way to make it easier for our customers – This is through having the right conversations about BNZ products that will benefit their business, and building those strong relationships with customers.
