  • Provide a safe, caring and supportive environment that promotes and builds on each client's strength and wellbeing, relevant to his/her individual needs, abilities, circumstances and culture.
  • Participate in the day-to-day care arrangements in accordance with shift plans – that is, assist clients with their social support, personal care, domestic assistance including yard maintenance and transport needs.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a clean and safe work environment, as per Occupational Health and Safety Standards and Guidelines.
  • Follow shift plans, support plans and other documents provided by the management.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to challenging behaviors and situations.
  • Respect client and staff confidentiality
  • Understand and implement GLDS aims and objectives through competent work practices.
  • Comply with GLDS policies and procedures, and with funding guidelines.
  • Adhere to established protocols that exist between GLDS and other service providers.
  • Follow Occupational Health and Safety standards, guidelines and practices.
  • Participate in the identification of potential and actual hazards and managing risks.
  • Individually contribute to ensure effective communication occurs within the organisation.
  • Ensure administrative requirements of the house are maintained, including record keeping (eg, client services information, communication book, confidential client files), reports and data collection processes.
  • Adhere to the established protocols that exist between GLDS and other service providers.
  • Undertake training and professional development with direction from the Manager.
  • Participate in internal and external service evaluations.
  • Actively participate in supervision.
  • Participate in relevant meetings as directed.
  • Participate in shift duties as rostered
  • Other duties as required.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $35.00 – $43.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Education:

  • Certificate I - IV (Required)

Experience:

  • support worker: 1 year (Required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Full Driver Licence (Preferred)

Work Authorisation:

  • Australia (Required)
