Company OverviewPurpose of the RoleKey Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review and lodge income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and SMSFs in accordance with ATO requirements.
  • Compile, review and submit Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements, reconciling GST, PAYG instalments and other regulatory obligations via cloud-based accounting platforms.
  • Develop and present financial statements-including balance sheets, profit & loss and cash flow reports-for management, statutory bodies and shareholders, providing assurance of accuracy and compliance with Accounting Standards
  • Advise on optimal business structures (company, partnership, trust, sole trader) and assist with company incorporation, ABN and TFN registrations to align operational objectives.
  • Guide clients through the establishment and ongoing governance of Self-Managed Super Funds, preparing and lodging all requisite documentation.
  • Implement and maintain robust cloud accounting systems (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks), and advise on internal control processes to enhance data integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct detailed variance analyses, budgeting and forecasting to identify trends, variances and strategic opportunities, and prepare management reports to guide client decision-making.
  • Develop and implement proactive tax-effective strategies to reduce clients' liability and optimise cash flow.
  • Undertake audit assistance and financial investigations, advising on mergers, acquisitions, insolvency matters and fraud prevention to safeguard client interests and uphold statutory obligations.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to resolve queries, update them on regulatory changes and deliver proactive guidance.
  • Stay current with developments in tax legislation, accounting standards and industry best practices through continuous professional education.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or overseas equivalent
  • At least five (5) years of proven experience as an Accountant
  • Previous experience in tax preparation and accounting services is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
