Health in Focus (HIF)
is an ACNC-registered volunteer run not-for-profit charity working to reduce health inequities through community-led practical initiatives. We believe that access to quality, affordable healthcare is a fundamental human right, and we are committed to bringing essential health services directly to the people who need them most.

In less than five years, HIF has changed the lives of thousands globally across Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Tanzania. With a growing team of 100+ volunteers, we have delivered health education workshops, donated vital equipment to rural hospitals, and supported thousands of vulnerable individuals through medical treatment and community outreach. Our next major step is bringing
FREE Heart Health Checks to communities across Victoria
helping to prevent cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death in Australia.

About The Role:

Our
Heart Health Pop-Up Clinics
offer an exciting opportunity for healthcare students, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to actively participate in cardiovascular health promotion and screening. Volunteers will support our
Heart Health Pop-Up Clinics
across Victoria to deliver free screenings and raise awareness about heart disease prevention.

This role is designed for people who are passionate about public health, health equity, and making a tangible impact in their community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with community
    Heart Health Check Pop-Up Clinics -
    including taking patient history, BMI, blood pressure, ECG, and heart rate.
  • Provide health education on risk factors.
  • Contribute to planning, logistics, and evaluation of events to improve outreach and impact.
  • Assist in developing tailored health resources for diverse and underserved populations.
  • Support HIF's awareness and fundraising efforts to sustain the Heart Health program.

Skills & Experience:

  • Current student or recent graduate in
    public health, medicine, nursing, health sciences, allied health, or related fields.
  • Passion for promoting heart health and reducing health disparities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with community members.
  • Interest in preventive health, cardiovascular disease, and health education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse, multicultural teams.
  • Commitment to making a sustainable, community-level difference.
