Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced
Role Description Writer
to join a high-performing People & Change Enablement team. The role will be responsible for writing and updating position descriptions, engaging with stakeholders and subject matter experts, ensuring compliance with frameworks and naming conventions, and supporting job evaluation processes. This position plays a key role in organisational design, workforce planning, and enabling effective change across the business.

Contract Summary

  • Rate:
    $60 – $75 per hour + Super
  • Contract Length:
    Until 31st December, with strong potential for extension
  • Work Model:
    Hybrid – 1–2 days in office rest WFH
  • Location:
    Sydney CBD

Responsibilities

  • Write and update position descriptions (PDs) in line with frameworks and naming conventions
  • Engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy and alignment
  • Provide specialist advice on job design and role clarity
  • Maintain documentation and manage the role description library
  • Support job evaluation processes and governance activities
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality outputs
  • Ensure compliance with policies, frameworks, and organisational standards

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in
    position description writing
    and job analysis
  • Strong knowledge of job design principles and capability frameworks
  • At least
    3–5 years' experience
    in a similar role, ideally within HR, organisational design, workforce planning, or classification/job evaluation
  • Experience providing
    job evaluation support
    and advice
  • Excellent written communication, stakeholder engagement, and consultation skills
  • Exposure to organisational change and governance requirements
  • Strong research, analysis, and documentation management skills
  • Public sector experience (highly regarded)
