Role Description

This is a casual Support Worker role based in Brisbane, QLD. Support Workers will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to individuals with neurodiversity and psychosocial disabilities.

Key tasks include:

  • Building participants capacity for independent living and finding and keeping a job
  • Planning with participants to engage with their community, attending appointments and building social connections beyond their formal care circle
  • Providing personal care
  • Assisting with daily living activities
  • Creating and implementing daily support plans
  • Medication management
  • Supporting complex behaviours, and implementing behaviour plans.
  • Emphasis will be placed on following safeguarding procedures and maintaining effective communication with clients, leaders and their families.

Qualifications

  • Experience and skills in Support Work
  • Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding practices
  • Technical Support skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Relevant certifications or training in disability support services
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care
