About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager to join SSN AUKUS located in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide or Perth, reporting to the Head of Supply Chain SSN-AUKUS.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business in a complex environment where commercial and technical agreements will enable capability uplift and capacity management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the category management remit for raw material and metals special processing including steel procurement, metal fabrication and machining. Collaborating with and providing category specific contracting, direction and advice to the procurement team, the SSN-AUKUS project team
- Developing and manage category strategies taking advantage of enterprise level supplier agreements and negotiations and finalising supplier agreements in accordance with set procedures
- Applying strong commercial skills to facilitate umbrella-style contracting and enable efficient execution of Enterprise Agreements (EAs).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on category initiatives
- Understanding the market trends and risk environment relating to your category
About YOU
- Strong experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain
- Demonstrated experience in the development and negotiation of contracts with key suppliers including panel style agreements. Experience in ASDEFCON Australian Defence contracting will be an advantage
- Experience in development and execution of category management strategies across diverse portfolios
- A Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) would be highly regarded
- Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
