Reporting to the Category Manager Services and Contractors, the Procurement Specialist Raw Materials will support the delivery of category strategies, procurement projects and supplier management plans for the raw materials portfolio, which encompasses sand, aggregate, chemicals, packaging (paper, plastic, pallets and bulk bags) and additives used across Boral's business segments. The Procurement Specialist will run successful procure to pay projects and tender processes for the high value raw materials category, ensuring Boral is receiving the best value from the supply market and that supply risks are managed. Interfacing broadly across the Boral business with key internal stakeholders and suppliers, this role engages across the end-to-end procurement process, providing guidance and support in managing suppliers.

What your day will involve

Responsibilities include assisting with delivery and deployment of national and regional spend and supplier management strategies; supporting the implementation of multi-year category plans, delivery of value benefits, sourcing, change management and supplier management plans; collaborating with the Category team and stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver value against agreed targets around savings/value delivery, risk management and governance for national and regional spend; supporting the Category Team in managing sourcing activities and the end-to-end procurement process for the programs/projects; preparing tenders, contracts and evaluation methodology documentation with input from the procurement cross-functional team, including accurate recording of minutes of procurement meetings; facilitating contract documentation and the award and execution of the contract; and preparing accurate and timely spend data and related insights for procurement categories and the procure-to-pay process.

What are we looking for?
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Law or Finance
  • Experience running successful tender processes across indirect categories; any previous raw materials experience will be highly regarded
  • Strong analytical skills and competency with analytical tools to interpret information and provide insights/recommendations
  • Advanced level skills within MS Office suite
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
