About the Roles

Senior Building Consultant

As a Senior Building Consultant, you will lead complex building inspections, provide expert advice on defect causation and remediation, and deliver comprehensive reports and scopes of work. You'll play a key role in mentoring junior team members and maintaining strong client relationships, while ensuring high standards of service and project delivery.

Building Consultant

As a Building Consultant, you'll assist in the inspection and assessment of residential buildings, prepare detailed reports, and support the development of remedial solutions. You'll collaborate closely with senior consultants and gain exposure to a wide range of defect types, construction issues, and remediation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

For both roles, responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough building inspections.
  • Identifying causes of damage due to design flaws, defective construction, or maintenance failures.
  • Analysing causation and recommending appropriate remediation.
  • Preparing professional building inspection reports.
  • Developing and overseeing remedial Scopes of Work.
  • Monitoring repair works and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Building strong relationships with clients through clear and timely communication.
  • Contributing to a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Senior Consultants will also be expected to:

  • Lead complex assessments and provide expert-level advice.
  • Mentor junior consultants and support their technical development.
  • Manage higher-level client engagements and strategic outcomes.

Skills & Experience

Senior Building Consultant

  • 8+ years' experience in the building and construction industry, particularly in residential high-rise and low-rise sectors.
  • Strong expertise in defect diagnosis and water intrusion investigations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian Standards, the NCC, and best practices.
  • Experience in remedial consultancy is highly desirable.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Building, Construction, or Engineering.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Building Consultant

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in building and construction.
  • Ability to identify and assess construction defects and water ingress issues.
  • Solid understanding of the NCC, Australian Standards, and building regulations.
  • Relevant qualification in Building, Construction, or Engineering.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team.

  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • A professional and proactive mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
