Architectural Draftperson

ALK Build, a growing architectural studio specialising in residential projects—including extensions, new homes, and duplexes—is seeking a skilled Architectural Draftsperson with 2+ years of professional experience and strong Revit skills to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone hands-on, organised, and looking to build experience in a small studio environment where their ideas and input will directly impact.

This is a full-time role based in our Lane Cove office, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week to support a healthy work–life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Liaising with clients to understand project needs and incorporating feedback into designs.
• Collecting and interpreting information, regulations, and instructions to ensure compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian standards.
• Collaborating with senior designers to prepare architectural plans and documentation for Development Applications (DA), ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and design and construction standards.
• Drafting and reviewing architectural drawings, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
• Coordinating consultant documentation and integrating it with architectural plans to maintain consistency across all project materials.
• Working with architects to develop the concept design phase (Pre-Design/Phase 0), including necessary project studies by applicable laws and standards, and implementing them into initial schematic design (Phase 1) drawings, following specified guidelines and standards.

Skills required:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience working on residential projects in Australia, preferably on custom homes (please note: applications without this experience will not be considered).
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential; experience with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• A tertiary qualification in Architecture, Building Design, or Drafting.
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (365 suite).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow through on tasks requested by senior team members.
• A motivated, can-do attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
