The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for two Clinical Nurse Consultant - Lead Practitioners for CYMHS Youth Forensic Mental Health one in the North and one in the North West of Tasmania.
*Please note these positions also being advertised as Allied Health Professionals and only two positions will be filled on merit.

We are seeking Clinical Nurse Consultants with experience in clinical leadership, complex case management, assessment, trauma informed therapy, and within mental health or relevant/related sector would be ideal. You would be working within a well-supported, innovative, diverse multidisciplinary team to provide developmentally appropriate treatment with children and young people.
Our Aim:
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Tasmania is growing We are seeking passionate and dedicated Lead Practitioners to provide clinical services with children and young people experiencing mental health concerns who are in out of home care. The positions available are within our new teams which are currently being developed as initiatives under the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care).
The Clinical Nurse Consultant - Lead Practitioner will be part of the Youth Forensic Mental Health team and will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach, trauma informed therapy, and working within a multidisciplinary team environment, providing high level clinical leadership to the team.
- Leadership training is available and provided by the Tasmanian Health Service in partnership with University of Tasmania.
The role will include:
- Being part of a dynamic and well supported team committed to delivering high quality trauma informed mental health services to children and young people.
- Undertaking clinical services through the provision of complex case management, assessment, and individual therapies, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs
- Working alongside innovative team leaders and consultant psychiatrists to develop new child and youth mental health services in Tasmania.
- Leading and working with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.

Two positions are available, one in the North and one in the Northwest.
North
- Based in Launceston CBD.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker positions available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:
$114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type
- A multidisciplinary allowance may also apply
Salary Packaging:
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse Current
- Working with Children Registration
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Current Driver's Licence
- A minimum of 3 years' experience highly relevant to the role
- Holds or is working towards post graduate qualifications highly relevant to the role
