About the Opportunity
As the Nurse Unit Manager of the Department of Emergency Medicine, you'll lead and inspire a dedicated team of healthcare professionals while overseeing the daily operations of the unit, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, safety, and team performance. This permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to lead a skilled and compassionate team in a supportive environment where your leadership will make a meaningful difference to both patients and staff.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and mentor nursing staff across all shifts within the Emergency Department
  • Oversee clinical operations and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient flow and outcomes
  • Manage staffing, rosters, and resource allocation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practice
  • Support staff development and engagement through coaching and education

About You

  • Must have Australian Working Rights
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Substantial experience in Emergency or Acute Care Nursing
  • Proven leadership experience in a clinical environment with a commitment to fostering a positive, team-oriented culture
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations

Desirable

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing or Leadership and Management
