About this role

The Centre for Population Health (CPH) aims to promote health and prevent morbidity and mortality caused by modifiable risk factors. The CPH portfolio encompasses blood borne viruses, sexual health, tobacco and obesity. The strategies used to address these issues include statewide policy and planning, legislation and regulation, program development, resource allocation, performance monitoring, research and evaluation.

This role is based in the Child and Family Programs team, Prevention Programs Branch. The branch provides statewide leadership in health promotion and service development aligned to the NSW Healthy Eating and Active Living Strategy to reduce overweight, obesity and chronic disease. The Child and Family Programs team provides healthy eating and active living initiatives for children and families. This includes partnering with key stakeholders and local health districts to support the design, delivery and evaluation of programs in the community.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

  • Building and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with stakeholders and local health districts.
  • Designing, commissioning and delivering key childhood obesity prevention programs based on the best local, national and international evidence.
  • Analysing evidence, data and stakeholder views to provide strategic advice to senior decision makers.
  • Proactively identifying and effectively managing stakeholder risks and communications.
  • Scoping, planning and managing the delivery of the agreed program of work within required timeframe and budget.
  • Working collaboratively with others in CPH to implement statewide prevention programs.

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individual who has:

  • Strong organisational skills and capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and to deliver high quality products within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Experience in managing change and communications with excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and translate complex and technical information accurately and effectively with diverse stakeholders, to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience designing, implementing and managing large-scale health promotion programs to deliver health outcomes, using evidence, critical thinking and partnerships.
